Incoming Students have a particular responsibility to familiarize themselves with MITI’s academic expectations, research standards, writing procedures, and examination guidelines. Students who are uncertain about any academic matter are encouraged to consult their instructor before submission.

Originality & Plagiarism Policy

MITI maintains a strict stance against plagiarism. All submitted work must reflect the Student’s own thoughts and original expression.

  • Borrowed language must be brief, properly cited, and enclosed in quotation marks
  • Any idea, concept, or phrasing that is not common knowledge or the Student’s own must be cited from an acceptable accredited source
  • Plagiarized or non-original work will result in significant point deductions, including possible zero credit
  • No resubmissions (“re-dos”) are permitted in cases of plagiarism

Students are expected to submit original work and take full responsibility for the integrity of their academic submissions.
